Welcome to the Faculty of Maritime Studies at the University of Split—a place where tradition meets innovation, and where knowledge shapes the future of maritime excellence. Since its establishment in 1959, our Faculty has become one of the leading beacons of education and research in the maritime profession, not only within the borders of the Republic of Croatia but far beyond. Through more than six decades of dedicated work, we have grown into an institution recognized for academic excellence and adherence to the highest international standards.

Our mission goes beyond education alone—it lies in training and empowering future generations of maritime professionals to face the complex challenges brought by constant changes in the global maritime industry. Through carefully designed study programs such as Maritime Navigation, Marine Engineering, Yacht and Marina Technologies, Maritime Electrical and Information Technologies, and Maritime Management, our students acquire key knowledge and skills aligned with labor market needs. This enables them to act effectively in the dynamic and technologically advanced environment of the maritime industry—both at sea and on land. Our graduates achieve high employability and global recognition across various sectors of the maritime industry, and through their accomplishments, we measure our own excellence and reputation within the academic and scientific community.

The Faculty continually enhances its study programs by systematically following the latest technological and scientific developments. Our vision is to position the Faculty not only as a key component of the University of Split but also as one of the leading centers of maritime education and research worldwide. Through active participation in international conferences, publication of scientific papers, and implementation of innovative projects, the Faculty significantly contributes to the advancement and expansion of maritime sciences, fostering the development of the profession on the international stage.

Thanks to agreements with numerous industry partners, our students have the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience through professional internships in the maritime economy.
