Marine Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies

The study has been organised so that students study topics from the field of electrical engineering, computer, communication and navigation technologies applied to modern ships and on shore, in ports, shipping companies and maritime economy as a whole.

In the course of study the students deal with basic knowledge of natural sciences, followed by basic electrical engineering and information technology courses as well as specialist courses in marine electronics, maritime communication and navigation systems. Teachers make use of special communication, nautical and marine engineering simulators.

Part of the teaching is performed during navigation practice on board ship. The study programme complies with the relative study at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Rijeka and Maritime Department of the University of Dubrovnik.

After completing this study students are authorised for joining the ship as marine electronics and radio-electronics officer.
