Dear students and employees,

We have all been recently been surprised by the good news that Split will be hosting the European University Games in 2028!

This event is of great significance not only for our university but also for the city of Split and Croatia. I would like to mention that this is the largest multi-sport event in the Croatian history and the largest in Europe in 2028, where more than 5,000 student-athletes from more than 400 European universities and from 45 European countries will take part. The games will take place at 50+ sports locations, i.e. on the territory of 11 cities and municipalities of the the Split-Dalmatia County. The support for this event has come from the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the regional, local and academic public.

Since the Faculty of Maritime Studies has always supported the University in its development and provided sincere support to sporting events, we hereby congratulate and thank the University of Split for its valuable contribution to the university itself, the city and the homeland, especially the administration headed by the Rector Prof. Dr. Dragan Ljutić.
