
The University of Split, Faculty of Maritime Studies, hereby announces the Call for Admission to the first year of the Doctoral Study "Technologies in Maritime Affairs" in the academic year 2025/2026.
The program lasts six semesters (three years) and leads to the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Technical Sciences, within the field of Traffic and Transport Technology.

Qualified candidates will be invited for an interview to assess their motivation, research interests, and competencies. The Doctoral Study Committee evaluates applications, and final decisions are confirmed by the Faculty Council.

The Postgraduate University Study Technologies in Maritime Affairs is designed as a full-time study with a full-time workload for postgraduate students, but it can also be carried out as a part-time study.
The Postgraduate University Study Technologies in Maritime Affairs is aligned with the recommendations of the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI). Students who enrol based on an invitation must choose a mentor and research area before enrolling.
During the study, the emphasis is on research work, for which the postgraduate student, together with the mentor, develops a research plan. Classes consist of two mandatory and three elective courses. Tuition fees are used for the student's research work and to pay for study costs.
A postgraduate student acquires the highest level of competences according to the Croatian Qualifications Framework (CKO), which relate to the creation and evaluation of new facts in the field of scientific research, which leads to the advancement of the boundaries of knowledge. He also develops social skills, independence and responsibility in work.
Upon completion of studies and the acquisition of the academic title of Doctor of Science, further education is possible at postdoctoral courses, studies and advanced training.
